Linksys router login

Linksys split its login in two generations. Classic WRT and E-series firmware accepts admin / admin at 192.168.1.1. Smart Wi-Fi and current mesh nodes expect the password created in the app, and they also answer on myrouter.local.

How to log in to Linksys

    Connect to the Linksys Wi-Fi

    Use the network on the underside label. A node that only extends the mesh still sends you to the main admin page.

    Open myrouter.local or 192.168.1.1

    Try myrouter.local first on current models, then 192.168.1.1. linksyssmartwifi.com works only while you are on the Linksys network.

    Use admin, then the sticker

    Try username admin and password admin. If that fails once, use the router password printed on the label. Do not keep guessing; five failures can add a wait.

Local login is enough for a new Wi-Fi password

You do not need the cloud account to change the wireless key if the local page opens. The cloud account matters when you want to manage the router away from home.

Smart Wi-Fi was linked to an email. The local admin password still exists on most models and is printed or was set during setup. Use the local form if you only need Wi-Fi settings at home.

192.168.1.1 is the ISP modem

Put the Linksys in front only if you meant to. Otherwise connect a computer to the Linksys LAN port and read the gateway again. It may still be 192.168.1.1 on the Linksys side of the cable.

The password on the sticker is the Wi-Fi key

Linksys prints a Wi-Fi password and, on many units, a separate admin password. Read the row labels before you type.
